Commandeck

Privacy Policy

Last updated 8 September 2026

The short version. Commandeck has no accounts and no ads, and it never asks who you are. Your decks are stored on your device and stay there. If you allow it, the app sends anonymous crash reports and usage statistics so that what breaks can be fixed and what people use can be improved — you can switch that off at any time in About, and nothing is shared with anyone else either way.

The rest of this page is the long version, and says the same thing with more words.

Who we are

Commandeck is an application developed by David, an independent developer. In this policy, “the app” means the Commandeck application for Android and iOS; and “we” means the developer.

What we collect

Nothing that identifies you. The app does not ask for a name, an email address, a phone number or any other identifier. There is no registration and no user account. On Android it requests a single permission, INTERNET, which it uses to download public Magic: The Gathering card data. It does not request access to your contacts, location, camera, microphone, photos, files or any other device data.

The app contains no advertising software. It does include crash reporting and usage statistics, described next, and both can be switched off.

Crash reports and usage statistics

Unless you switch it off, the app reports two things:

These reports carry a random identifier that the analytics provider generates for the installation. It is not linked to you, it is not shared with anything else, and it is discarded when you uninstall the app or clear its data.

What is deliberately never reported: your name or any contact detail; the advertising identifier, whose collection is switched off explicitly in both apps; what you type into the search box; the names of your cards or decks; the contents of your decks; and your precise location. None of it is used for advertising, and none of it is sold or shared with third parties.

Turning it off

Open About in the app and switch off Help improve Commandeck. From that moment the app stops collecting and stops sending, on that device, until you switch it back on.

Who processes it

Crash reports and usage statistics are processed on our behalf by Google, using Firebase Crashlytics and Google Analytics for Firebase. See the Firebase privacy and security information and the Google privacy policy. Usage data is kept for up to 14 months; crash reports are kept for the period Firebase applies to them.

What is stored on your device

The following is saved in the app’s private storage on your phone, where only the app can read it:

None of this is transmitted to us or to anyone else. It is deleted when you uninstall the app or clear its data from Android settings.

Services the app connects to

To show card information the app requests public data from the services below. As with any request over the internet, these receive your device’s IP address and a standard request header. We send them nothing about you, and we receive nothing back about you.

Links to card shops

Card pages include a link to buy the card from an online retailer, chosen from your device’s region setting. Following one opens your browser and takes you to that retailer’s website, where their own privacy policy applies. These links may carry an affiliate code, which means the retailer may pay us a commission if you buy something. It does not change the price you pay, and it does not identify you to us — we receive only anonymous aggregate totals from the retailer.

The region is worked out locally on your device from its language and region setting, and the region setting itself is never sent anywhere. If you have left the statistics switched on, the app does record that a buy link was followed, which shop it pointed at and the approximate price range — never which card, and never anything about you.

Children

Commandeck is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone, of any age.

Your rights

Everything the app creates lives on your device and is under your control: uninstalling the app, or clearing its storage in the system settings, removes it permanently.

We hold nothing that identifies you, so there is no account for us to look up. The crash and usage reports are tied only to the random installation identifier described above, which we have no way of connecting to a person. If you want that installation’s data deleted, or you have any question about it, write to the address below and we will deal with it. Switching the statistics off in About, or uninstalling the app, stops any further collection immediately.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with an updated date. Material changes will also be noted in the app’s release notes on Google Play.
